This blog, this website, the name of my private practice, my career, and my commitment to my profession are all dedicated to my mother, Judith Martinez. The inspiration behind everything that my life has meant to me and others started with her and one of her favorite sayings whenever I am met with a lack of confidence, uncertainty, loss, defeat, failure or disappointment, she says, “Tomorrow is a new day.”

Thank you and love you, Mami, xoxo 💕Jeanne

Why is Every Day a New Day?

Every day is a new day because…

You cannot go backward! When you are looking back, you are missing out on what is in front of you. Ruminating over failed scenarios is a vicious cycle that will keep you awake at night, distract you from your responsibilities, and reinforce feelings of shame and regret. With time, you CAN let it go.

Every day is a new day because…

You have been given another day to live, to breathe, to experience something new, to shine, to be disappointed, to fail, to learn, to be grateful for what you have.

Every day is a new day because…

As much as we try so hard to plan our lives, to control the things that interfere with our joy, to avoid tragedies and loss, to control our anxieties and fears, every day brings uncertainty that we have to accept and learn to manage. We can’t control everything and everyone. We can control our emotions and actions.

Every day is a new day because…

A new day brings opportunities to learn strategies and interventions that you can use when you are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, stressed, angry, depressed, grief-stricken, desperate, or hopeless.

Every day is a new day because…

A new day is a brand-new opportunity to make change.
